Welcome to the Scything for Beginners and Improvers event!
Come to Somerset Scythe School on April 25, 2026 for a day of practical learning and fun.
Whether you're completely new to scything or looking to improve your skills, this practical one day course is perfect for you to learn to use an Austrian scythe with confidence.
Your experienced tutor, Andi Rickard, has been teaching scything for 14 years and has been UK ladies champion since 2010. She will guide you through the art of scything, teaching you the techniques needed to master this traditional craft.
The course is held at Mower Meadow, just off the A303 near Chard and will have a maximum group size of 6 people.
