Mangled Yarn Theatre presents: A Christmas Carol
Performance in english.
A Festive Classic, Reimagined With Heart, Humour & Humanity
Following two fantastic years at Copenhagen's LiteraturHaus, Mangled Yarn Theatre returns this December 2025 with a thrillingly original take on Charles Dickens: 'A Christmas Carol' a story of redemption, community, and Christmas cheer, brought to life with our trademark blend of playfulness, poignancy, and powerful storytelling.
The Story You Know, Like You've Never Seen It Before
Step into the cold, cobbled streets of Victorian London where Ebenezer Scrooge, a grumbling miser who loathes the joy of Christmas, is visited by three spirits who take him on an unforgettable journey through past, present and future. It's a tale as timeless as tinsel but in true Mangled Yarn style, expect surprises, spirited storytelling, and plenty of audience interaction.
Four Actors. Dozens of Characters. A Truly Immersive Experience.
Led by associate artist Alex Rivers (fresh from her acclaimed turn as Mr Potter), our ensemble of four will leap between characters, accents, and musical instruments - using puppetry, movement, and even you, our audience, to tell this heartwarming tale. With a two-hour runtime and plenty of laughs, it's a show designed to delight all ages.
More Than a Performance, A Community Celebration
At Mangled Yarn, theatre doesn't start and end with the curtain. We are passionate about accessibility and community. We are proud to be working this year with under-supported groups in Shropshire, UK - and are excited to extend this ethos to Copenhagen. We want everyone to feel the magic of live theatre, especially at Christmas.
Why Mangled Yarn?
Whether crafting a wartime-inspired prequel to It's a Wonderful Life using real-life stories from isolated communities, or weaving inclusive theatre for visually impaired audiences, we don't just stage stories. We live them. We share them. And we celebrate the people who make them real.
Let us bring our warm-hearted, wonderfully 'mangled' version of A Christmas Carol to your stage, and your community.
