Hello everyone, we're back once again!The Scottish Beatbox Championships (SBC) return, celebrating a successful seven years in operation, and we are hosting the event this year at Room 2, Glasgow, on Saturday, 30th August!

This is our first time at Room 2, and having previously held the event in locations such as Nice N Sleazy, McChuills, and Ivory Blacks, we are excited to bring the event to a new venue.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE -
Upload a 1.30-2.00 minutes audio/video of yourself beatboxing, to YouTube/Soundcloud or any other video/audio uploading application, ensuring that it sounds clear of any background noise or interruptions.

WHAT TO EXPECT -
The SBC begins with an elimination round consisting of the country's top vocal percussionists.
Elimination Round - 1.30 Minutes (Each individual will have this amount of time to showcase their talent, and after this, the judges decide who will participate in the top 8 ).
Qtr Final/Semi Final/Final - 2 x 1.30 minutes (Each individual will battle it out for the SBC title)
Small Final - 2 x 1.30 minutes (the two defeated beatboxers from the Semi Finals, will compete in a small final round for 3rd and 4th place)
You will have performances from our host and judging panel, which we will announce soon.
As mentioned, we have run this event for seven years in a row, and as a big thank you for all your support over the years, we have decided to make the event FREE ENTRY!

If you have never witnessed a beatboxer, or you have seen it online via a video, but have never yet experienced this type of event, then why not try something new?
It is a jaw-dropping experience, and you will be amazed at what these talented artists can do with only their voice.

ON THE NIGHT... we will operate a raffle in support for our chosen charity Music Broth (prizes will be announced on the build up to the event).
MUSIC BROTH -
Music Broth is Scotland's musical instrument library! Our aim is to make playing music accessible to all.
We are a social enterprise with charitable status (SC048299).
Music Broth members have access to 3000+ musical items for a very low membership fee, to make playing and learning music affordable. All low cost memberships also support subsidised memberships through our in-house Access Fund.
Our instruments are high quality donated & pre-loved items refurbished by our amazing volunteers, who are a vital part of Music Broth.
Many free and low-cost workshops, events and activities take place at Music Broth to bring fun educational music activities to communities. We love working together with other organisations to bring music to even more people.
Music Broth also offers affordable professional services for loaning PA hire and event equipment, as well as event tech support.
