About the Musicians:
Scott Christopher Murray is an accomplished singer/songwriter and veteran of the acoustic music scene. He’s a Grammy-nominated musician living in Fulks Run, Va. Raised in the Shenandoah Valley, he has absorbed its rich story-telling and musical traditions and has traveled and performed most of his adult life. His music reflects life, love and loss wrapped in beautiful melodies and artful musicianship. Murray’s second album, “Short Stories,” was nominated for contemporary folk album of the year.
Rick Hill has been singing folk music for most of his life. He grew up listening to and playing Peter, Paul and Mary songs. He has since expanded his repertoire to songs by Simon and Garfunkle, Gordon Lightfoot, John Denver and many other acoustic performers in a variety of genres from acoustic rock, to country, to bluegrass and Old Time. He plays a variety of instruments including guitar, hammered dulcimer, ukulele, mandolin, and upright bass. He also writes music being influenced by writers like Paul Simon, Bob Franke, and Harry Chapin.Rick is a retired Presbyterian pastor who continues to preach in area churches using folk music extensively in his services.Rick's website is www.ricksfolk.com.
