About this Event
Spanish Cinema Now + "Premios Goya” - International Screening Series is a special edition of our film program. This project is a collaboration with AECID and the Spanish Film Academy, designed to showcase Spanish cinema by screening films recognized at the Goya Awards. This series will feature three films, aiming to highlight the strength of the Spanish film scene.
Black Butterflies
- Directed by David Baute, 2024, Spain, 78 minutes.

Inspired by real women, the story proposes a journey from Africa, the Caribbean, and Asia toward an uncertain future for humanity. Climate change impacts the lives of Tanit, Valeria, and Shaila—three women from very different parts of the world who have something in common: they all lose everything due to the effects of global warming and are forced to migrate.

- A reservation on Eventbrite is mandatory, printed tickets are not required.
- Seating is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
- Doors open 20 minutes before posted showtime.
- Ticket holders will have access to the event while space is available. A reservation does not guarantee admission.
- No Late Seating, ticket holders may not be allowed to enter 15 minutes after posted showtime.

How to get there:
The best way to arrive is by public transportation. The closest Metro station is Columbia Heights (Green line). Limited metered and two-hour zoned parking is available in the surrounding neighborhoods. Public parking garage is available at DC USA Shopping Mall (Columbia Heights Metro Station).
