The Georgia State University Symphony Orchestra presents an evening of orchestral music featuring winners of the 2025 Brumby Concerto Competition.The program opens with Aram Khachaturian’s Masquerade Suite: Waltz, conducted by Evan Eldridge. Brumby Concerto Competition winner Rae Baker, cello, is featured in Edward Elgar’s Cello Concerto under the direction of Dr. Tamara Dworetz.
Following intermission, Brumby winners Austin Mellen and Blaze Benavides, percussion, are featured in Ioannis John Psathas’s The All-Seeing Sky, conducted by Dr. Dworetz. The concert concludes with the final movement of Antonín Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9, “From the New World,” conducted by Garrett Clay.
