Intermediate to Advanced
Mondays, September 13th - November 1st
with Julianne Christie
In this Scene Study Class for Adults instructor Julianne Christie will work with you on:
-Exploring relationships, environment and objectives
-Incorporating text and scene analysis and learning to follow large arcs in material.
-Character development and playing honestly moment to moment
-Working with leading and supporting roles from beautiful stage and screen scripts.
-Finding where our characters live on the emotional scale.
Scenes will be developed with the Julianne's guidance over the course of 8 weeks; some rehearsal is required outside of class time. There will be opportunities for contrasting scene work and monologues. The final performance will be recorded if students so choose.
After this class you will know how to:
-Cold read effectively.
-Understand how to breakdown a script.
-Create a strong self tape.
-Work with the emotional scales in our bodies to play for truth.
-Confidence in front of the camera whether on zoom or in the room with casting professionals, agents and director/producer meetings.
-Strengthen your social skills be it with your scene partner, ensemble or personal life.
-Promote yourself through Actors Access and Vancouver casting sites.
