Dive into invigorating conversations with 'human books' across society and culture research.
About this Event

We are inviting colleagues from across the Faculty of Society & Culture to this collectively-curated S+C Human Library event. The S+C Human Library is a warm and welcoming, innovative and inclusive event to celebrate, connect, and share research and knowledge exchange across our disciplines.

The S+C Human Library curates:

  • Exclusive performances from a very special spoken word artist and ‘open-mic’ opportunities
  • More than 20+ 5-minute ‘talks’ with our very own 'human books'
  • Connections between ideas, disciplines, and people across S+C
  • Fresh learning and new boundaries
  • Celebration of S+C people nominated for university research and knowledge exchange awards.

We are currently curating 5-minute contributions from 'human books’ – colleagues who want to share a story of their research and the person behind it – through voice, performance, or artifact (i.e. no slides!). The aim is simple – to enable human connection.

“Words mean more than what is set down on paper.
It takes the human voice to infuse them with deeper meaning”

"We have gifts, we have talents... but we are also imperfect by nature.
We’re acknowledging we have a story to tell, and we can change the world"

Book your ticket now to reserve your space.

Our indicative schedule is below - our confirmed programme will be shared soon.

Refreshmens and lunch will be provided throughout the day.
