About this Event
Our recruitment begins with a 2-hour in-person information night (online attendance is not offered) that is mandatory to attend. Search and Rescue is hard work, and demands time, commitment and energy. It also requires some upfront costs including purchasing some gear. We want to make sure that you are well informed and know what you are signing up for. This session will cover topics like general questions on costs, qualifications, uniforms, equipment, search call outs, time commitment, training and more! Details on how to register for training to become an operational member of SBO-OVSAR will be provided. There is a cap of 25 new recruits that will be accepted. Recruits must be available for basic training (BSAR) during weekends and a few weeknights within about a month of information night. Dates are March 28-29 (weekend), April 1, evening, April 11-12 (weekend) and Apr. 25 (all day).
