About this Event
U.S. Federal SBIR/STTR programs are 'America's Seed Fund' and provide $2.4 Billion annually in non-dilutive funding to early-stage entrepreneurs to commecialize their technology-based innovations. The U.S. Department of Agriculture has an annual SBIR budget of $21 million, focused principally on AgriFoodTech and other USDA-related topics.
This August 21st educational webinar will provide a in-depth look at the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture's Phase-II SBIR and STTR programs, their areas of focus, and specific insights into how to get started with your Phase-II SBIR/STTR application, particularly for existing recipients of USDA Phase-I SBIR awards, or those looking ahead to a combination of Phase-I and Phase-II awards. Free, self-service Grant Development Kits will be made available to entrepreneurs to assist in applying for SBIR/STTR awards.
Why: This webinar aims to empower entrepreneurial businesses who are candidates for USDA SBIR/STTR awards. Early exposure to SBIR/STTR opportunities is critical to timely funding. This webinar will provide insights on how to get started with SBIR/STTR and provide materials to jumpstart the small business' application.
Deep-dive sessions drill into specific US Federal agencies providing support to AgriFoodTech entrepreneurs, and will feature a presentation by HSMC and/or the Federal agency, as well as an interview with a recipient from the agency.
This educational webinar program is brought to you by AgTech Nation, a horizontal collaboration of AgriFoodTech entrepreneur-support organizations across the country working together to advance innovation in our global food system. The webinar will be conducted by HSMC - Healthcare Scientific and Medical Communications, a woman-owned small business founded by Dr. Lisa Hoverman and supporting federal grant and contract work. For a decade, HSMC has led the State of Indiana's SBIR/STTR program and helped dozens of successful clients outside of Indiana win SBIR Awards across the country.
