As the world gathers in the New York/New Jersey region for the historic 2026 global soccer championship, Newark takes center stage with Savor Newark 2026: The Culinary Cup — United at the Table Symposium. This premier one-day international culinary experience will convene leaders from across food, business, education, and policy to explore how culinary identity can drive economic growth, innovation, and opportunity—all while celebrating culture and unity through food.
Fueled by generations of immigrant communities, Newark’s food scene stands as a living expression of the people who call the city home. Each culture contributes its distinct traditions and flavors, shaping an authentic and dynamic culinary landscape. From the Portuguese, Brazilian, and Spanish influences that define the Ironbound District, to the growing presence of African, Caribbean, and South American cuisines across the city, Newark has emerged as a true culinary crossroads.

Diaspora Tasting Experience: World Cup Edition
As part of the lunch program, guests will enjoy a Diaspora-curated tasting featuring six (6) local restaurants, each representing a country competing in the World Cup 2026. This global culinary journey highlights the flavors, cultures, and communities that make Newark vibrant—bringing the spirit of the World Cup to the table while uplifting local chefs and businesses.
