On Saturday, January 10th, 2026, the majestic Truman Waterfront Park will be the backdrop for the inaugural Save Our First Responders 5K, a critical event dedicated to the heroes who tirelessly serve and protect our communities.
This is more than just a race. It is a powerful statement of support for the mental and emotional well-being of our first responders—the law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, and dispatchers who face unthinkable stress and trauma as part of their daily duty. The invisible wounds of the job, such as PTSD, depression, and anxiety, are a silent epidemic that we, as a community, must address. This event, held in conjunction with Monroe County's annual First Responders Week, is our opportunity to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with them and say, "We see you, we appreciate you, and we will support you."

The Super Eight: A Battle of Champions
The highlight of the Save Our First Responders 5K is the thrilling Super Eight competition. This is an electrifying event where eight elite teams of first responders from across Florida will go head-to-head, not in a test of speed, but a testament to teamwork and dedication. These teams, representing the pillars of our community's safety, will vie for the prestigious Alioht Valdes-Marrero Perpetual 1st Place Team Trophy and gold medals.

Correctional Officers
Correctional Probation Officers
Crime Scene Investigators
EMTs & Paramedics
Firefighters
Law Enforcement Officers
USA Armed Forces
Join us to cheer on these incredible teams as they push themselves to the limit for a cause that unites us all. The course itself will be a scenic 5K route consisting of three inspiring loops around the Truman Waterfront Park, near the historic Coast Guard Cutter Ingham.

7:00 AM: Race Day Registration and Packet Pickup Opens.
8:00 AM: Race Starts.

Who: All members of the South Florida community and all active, former, and retired first responders and military members.
