Saturday Short Poses - Life Drawing at Draw Brighton

Come along to an energetic, bumper short pose life drawing session for abilities in our purpose-built studio.

The short poses session in February went down so well, we're doing another one!

This session is for all abilities and will more on the energetic side of things, with mixture of different short poses of times ranging up to 10 mins. This is a good chance to practise short pose drawing and work from more dynamic and varied poses.

If you are new to life drawing, the large number of poses offers lots of chances to experiment and play.

It is a good idea to bring plenty of paper with you, though our studio shop is well stocked if you need more.

This session is a short pose session, which will comprise of a mixture of poses up to about 10 minutes long. We will be drawing from an unclothed model.

This is a one-off session and a special chance to focus on short poses alone.

You welcome to arrive up to 15 minutes before the session to set up.

There will be two short breaks for hot drinks and biscuits after each hour of the session. Toilets are available in the building.

The studio is well equipped for artists, with easels and drawing boards available. Limited materials are on hand to use and paper can be purchased. You are welcome to bring your own art materials as well – we have small tables for inks and watercolours.

Facemasks are not required, but if you would like one, free masks are available at the studio.

The session will be facilitated by life drawing tutor, Lancelot Richardson, who will be on hand to provide assistance with your drawing. This session is for artists of any ability – beginners welcome!

Booking is advisable, though there may be limited tickets on the door if you arrive on the day and want to pay by contactless.

When you arrive at the building, head to the front door next to the building manager's office. A phone number for the tutor running the session will be posted on the door, so please call it to be let in.

There will be a short break for hot drinks and biscuits in the middle of the session. Toilets are available in the building.

The building has a wheelchair ramp, lifts and accessible toilets. Unfortunately, the building does not provide parking. If you have access needs, please get in touch so we can help you enjoy life classes.

You can also pay by card/contactless at the session.

Please do not attend this session if you have covid, flu, are otherwise infectious or showing similar symptoms such as coughing, sneezing, fever, etc. You will receive a refund as well as our appreciation! Just get in touch to let me know - you may also transfer the booking to another week if you prefer.

Mask wearing is welcome but not compulsory. The studio has an industrial grade air filter and is well ventilated with high ceilings.

This session is run via the Draw Brighton studio and adheres to their basic model rates of £20/hr, including breaks. Draw also guarantees sick pay for life models. We believe it is important and ethical to compensate our models with a fair, living wage.
