A free monthly event for kids of all ages to explore the workings of the brain through hands-on activities and unique scientific resources.
About this Event

Every month we offer new activities, created by our partners BioBus and CUNO (Columbia University Neuroscience Outreach). Our activities are designed for children ages 5-12, but learners of all ages are invited to join scientists in the Zuckerman Institute’s Education Lab, located at 605 West 129th Street.

Through hands on activities and interactive demonstrations, discover the many ways your brain collects information, builds connections, and supports learning at every age. Families and community groups are invited to explore how the brain helps us think, move, and grow together.

This month’s theme, From A to ZI, highlights the current work that our scientists are conducting in the labs of the Jerome L. Greene Science Center. Don’t miss this exciting event.

Saturday Science is generously supported by funds from the NSF AI Institute for Artificial and Natural Intelligence (ARNI).

This event is free and open to the public. Register now to guarantee entrance.

Spanish translators available upon request. Please let us know your preferred language in the registration form. Hay traductores de español disponibles. Indica su idioma preferido en el formulario de inscripción.

We recommend that all visitors (except children 5 years of age and under), including those who enter any campus facility for any period of time, should be vaccinated.

Tickets are limited, so please only register if you plan on attending! If you register but cannot attend, we ask that you release your tickets in a timely fashion so another young scientist has the opportunity to join us.

Children must be accompanied by an adult. Content is geared toward elementary and middle school students, but learners of all ages are welcome. Guests can arrive at any time between 1 and 4 pm.

Photography: On occasion, we photograph or video Saturday Science for promotional and archival purposes. When registering for the event at Jerome L. Greene Science Center, you give Columbia University in the City of New York the right to use your image and your child's image for said purposes. We will never use your names, age, or other identifying factors.
