Slow down, look closely, and reconnect with the natural world through the mindful practice of nature journaling. In this 2-hour workshop, we will venture outside or into the Exhibit Room to observe and record the world around us. Afterward, we'll gather indoors at the Nature Center to share our work and discuss the experience. Please bring warm layers so you can comfortably draw outside.
Using prompts such as “I notice, I wonder, it reminds me of…,” participants will practice various nature journaling techniques. We will use words, numbers and pictures as we describe plants or natural objects. This gentle, creative practice is open to all experience levels. No art skills required, just a willingness to explore! Feel free to sign up for one workshop or all in the series. Videos will be shared ahead of time so you can practice new techniques!
Basic supplies will be provided (colored pencils, watercolor, paper), but feel free to bring your own.
This workshop is designed for an adult audience, but older children -- ages 12+ -- are welcome to attend.
Entire Series: April 11, May 9, June 13
