Join Saturday Club on May 2nd, at 10:30 for "Animal Drawing." Drawing animals is fun, no matter how you do it, but have you ever wondered how you can make your animal drawings look more like the real thing? "In this Saturday Club we’ll learn some basic principles of figure drawing," says Education Specialist Russell Hawley. "We'll start with a simple framework and build it up, step by step, to create a fully fleshed out animal. Just about any animal can be broken down into a series of simple shapes, and this approach makes it easier to get the proportions straight, as well as to draw it in any number of dramatic ‘action’ poses. We’ll also learn how knowledge of comparative muscle anatomy can help artists make their pictures more realistic and dynamic." Saturday Club is free and open to children ages 7-14. The Tate Geological Museum is located at the southern end of the Casper College campus; look for the life-size T. rex bronze near the Tate or call the museum at 307-268-2447.
