𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐘𝐨𝐠𝐚?
The word yoga comes from the Sanskrit root yuj, which means to yoke, to join, or to unite.
Or, as described in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali:
Yogaś citta vṛtti nirodhaḥ
“Yoga is the stilling of the fluctuations of the mind”
At its heart, yoga is union. It is the weaving together of body, breath, mind, and awareness into a single tapestry. Each practice is a thread, and through steady devotion, those threads are woven into the beautiful tapestry of your life.
This day-long yoga immersion invites you to explore how five yoga styles- Vinyasa, Hatha, Ashtanga, Yin, and Restorative- each offer their own color, texture, and pattern to weave into your yoga practice.
In each session, a graduating 300-hour advanced yoga teacher training student will share the history of each style, then guide you through an element of pranayama (breath), meditation, mantra, as well as asana (movement).
𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒈𝒂 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒐𝒑𝒆𝒏 𝒕𝒐 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒍𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒔. We welcome you to attend the full day, including an opening and closing ceremony. Whether you are stepping onto the mat for the first time or have been practicing for years, each class offers a new thread to explore- revealing how many textures, patterns, and techniques can be woven together in service of one intention: union.
