Under the expert guidance of Rob, discover the origins of this country craft and see why it is still popular today
- Utilise an array of traditional Sashiko templates and use your own distinctive flair to create your own design
- Learn the secrets of clean and simple knots for starting and ending your stitching
- Choose a black or white cotton tote bag for your designs, a Sashiko needle, and a 20m skein of Sashiko thread in an array of captivating colours to continue your embroidery at home (included in class price)
Rob's work was featured in the conversion challenge of the semi-final of the Great British Sewing Bee in 2022!
The workshop is open to participants over 12 years old (accompanied by an adult).
Rob will be selling a range of his Japanese textiles at discounted prices so make sure to allow some time for some shopping too!
On Sunday 20 October, Muswell Hill Creatives will be bringing people together to get creative at Make and Mend Festival. Guaranteed to be a feast of creativity with a strong focus on sustainability, take part in a workshop, learn about mending and repairs, shop from local makers and enjoy tasty food and drink. Admission to the Festival is free so be sure to arrive early if you're booking a workshop to take a look around and enjoy all that's on offer. Doors open to the Festival at 1pm and close at 5pm so arrive early, grab something to eat and browse all the great activities taking place.
