Sarith & Surith (S & S) became the power of youth who passed the national boundaries lightning fast to reach the international arena. Being conversant in both theory and practice in music, they are enthusiastically passionate and dedicated to what they aspire and accomplish as musicians. Born as twins in 2000, they started their journey at a very early age by performing at pocket concerts and parties in 2016. They released their 1st single and anchored their name in the local music industry within the same year.
Soon after, Sarith & Surith joined the youth radio channel Y FM and showcased their talents at the Y Unplugged Studio - Live. With the vast popularity and appreciation received, S & S have performed at the youth musical program on SIRASA TV called 16+.
Experimenting in the musical arena and representing at many international events like Vietnam ABU TV Song Festival, The Indian Philharmonic Festival and the CHOGM Summit, Sarith & Surith formed the band NEWS with exceptionally talented individuals.
Rashmika Liyanage on Keyboards, Vihara Hettiwatta on Rhythm Guitar, Venuk Pesara on Bass Guitar, Thilina Dilhara on Percussion, Sarith Jayawardena on Lead & Surith Jayawardana on Drums will provide innovative music to the featuring artists on stage Vindy Goonatilake, Sanuka Wickramasinge, Dinesh Gamage and Kaizer Kaiz.
