Vi kender alle luciasangen, og de fleste har prøvet at gå på række og synge med. Men hvor mange har prøvet at danse i cirkel og syng med? Ja det er jo et godt spørgsmål. Efter Sanktba Lucia er tallet nok steget med en god håndfuld.
Aftenen forløber sig således:
19.30 – dørene og baren åbner
20.00 – ballet går i gang!
22.30 – jamsession
23.30 – ballet slutter, hvis du ikke er klar til at gå, bliver du sat til at rydde op
Hvad er et folkedansbal?
Der kommer tre bands fra norden (vi har gæster fra den anden side af Øresund), og spiller op til bal med traditionelt nordisk folkemusik. Musikerne spiller op, og sætter tonerne for aftenens danse. Der kommer båd et mix af pardanse og fællesdanse, så tøv ikke hvis du aldrig har prøvet folkedans før, musikerne og de garvede dansere vil guide dig gennem fællesdansene.
Hvad er en jamsession?
Hvis du selv spiller et instrument, så tag det med! I traditionel stil slutter vi aftenen af med åben jamsession, hvor alle der har lyst kan joine musikerne på scenen og spille med.
Hvis du ikke spiller musik, kan du forsætte med at holde ild i floor.
Luciadag:
For at lyse op i denne mørke tid vil vi opfordre folk til at tænke i lyse baner. Om det er hvide kjole, kranse i håret eller bare en varm personlighed vælger du selv. Det eneste krav er at du har lyst til at have det sjovt (og måske drikke en lille kaffepunch, men ingen tvang).
Kom alene eller tag dine venner med – uanset om du er en erfaren danser, nybegynder eller bare nysgerrig, er du velkommen til at opleve magien og fællesskabet ved et folkedansbal anno 2025.

We all know the Lucia song, and most of us have tried walking in a row and singing along. But how many have tried dancing in a circle and singing along? Yes, that's a good question. After Sanktba Lucia, the number has probably increased by a good handful.
The evening will unfold as follows:
19:30 – doors and bar open
20:00 – the ball begins!
22:30 – jam session
23:30 – the ball ends; if you're not ready to leave, you'll be put to work cleaning up
What is a folk dance ball?
Three bands from the north (we have guests from across the Øresund) will be playing traditional Nordic folk music for the ball. The musicians will play and set the tone for the evening's dances. There will be a mix of partner dances and group dances, so don't hesitate if you've never tried folk dancing before; the musicians and experienced dancers will guide you through the group dances.
What is a jam session?
If you play an instrument, bring it along! In traditional style, we will end the evening with an open jam session, where anyone who wants to can join the musicians on stage and play along.
If you don't play music, you can continue to keep the floor alive.
Lucia Day:
To brighten up this dark time of year, we encourage people to think positively. Whether that means wearing a white dress, a wreath in your hair or just having a warm personality is up to you. The only requirement is that you want to have fun (and maybe drink a little coffee punch, but no pressure).
Come alone or bring your friends – whether you are an experienced dancer, a beginner or just curious, you are welcome to experience the magic and community of a folk dance ball in 2025.
