In celebration of 2026 declared by the United nations as the International year of the Female Farmer, join us for light refreshments, and a film screening of Women's Work, the The Untold Story of America’s Female Farmers produced by Audra Mulkern, the driving force behind the Female Farmer Project.
Through a rich tapestry of narratives, "Women’s Work" celebrates the achievements of both historical and contemporary female farmers. The documentary offers a uniquely matrilineal perspective on America's farming history. It features insightful interviews and highlights women's diverse backgrounds and agricultural practices across the nation.
After the film screening, hear from local farmers Louisa Brouwer, Amanda Zee and Angie Freeman about their experience as women farming on San Juan Island.
