About this Event
We welcome your child to join us for a lively and meaningful day of substance use prevention and education in a safe setting. Guided by a trusted and loving team, children will learn that they are not alone by spending the day with others who have loved ones with drinking or other drug problems.
Through art, games, sharing, role-plays and fun activities, children will learn to identify and express feelings, learn about alcohol and other drugs, practice healthy communication, develop self-care skills, and learn to feel good about themselves.
Children will learn that there is help available now and throughout their lives. Perfect for children from families who want a supportive space for their children to understand, learn and grow.
Parents and caregivers are encouraged to join the Adult Workshop at the same time! The workshop will be facilitated by two professionals and will offer education, support, and tools in a nonjudgmental and informative group setting.
Topics will include alcohol, drugs, addiction, relationships, self-care and healthy ways to support children. There will be plenty of time for conversation, support of one another and opportunities to ask questions and receive guidance.
Snacks and a hearty lunch are included for participating children and adults.
Services are provided through the partnership of Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation and Addictions Institute San Francisco.
