Basics of Vegetable Seed Propagation
Saturday, March 8th, 10 am - 12 pm (Pacific Daylight Time)
Taught by Alemany Farm Managers: Abby Bell and Vanessa Lieu
This IN-PERSON WORKSHOP will be hosted at Alemany Farm.
Start your own vegetable garden from seed and turn your house into a greenhouse! In this seed propagation workshop, attendees will learn about the resilience and magic of seeds, and how to start a vegetable patch from scratch. We will cover basic propagation techniques such as seed sowing, materials, and young plant care. This workshop will include some hands-on seed sowing for you to take home. Our goal is to help home gardeners get vegetables growing from seed - especially beginner growers - using practices that are affordable, organic, and planet-friendly (carbon-capturing).
Abby Bell and Vanessa Lieu are the current Farm Managers with Friends of Alemany Farm Together they have over two decades of experience starting seeds and growing organic fruits and vegetables.
Suggested Donation: $35; no one turned away for lack of funds. Our workshops are donation-based and support the growing and distribution of free produce at Alemany Farm. Please give at the suggested level or higher if it is available to you.
