October 25 | Babette's Feast

In a rural Lutheran village in Denmark in the late 19th century, two sisters take in a French refugee from the Franco-Prussian War, Babette Hersant, who becomes their servant. After she wins the lottery, she repays the sisters by cooking a meal for the entire community.

This documentary follows Jacquy Pfeiffer, founder of the French Pastry School in Chicago, to France to compete against 15 of France's leading pastry chefs in a three-day event. The winner receives the coveted Meilleur Ouvrier de France (Best Craftsman in France) from President Sarkozy—a dream for every pastry chef.
