Salford’s VE Day 80 ??8️⃣ 0️⃣ Salford City Council will be holding a commemorative, community celebration to mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day from 9pm onwards on Thursday 8 May 2025.
Taking place in the Sunken Gardens at Salford Civic Centre, this event will create a peaceful moment for reflection and contemplation.
✨ Visitors can enjoy a fire and light installation from Walk the Plank lasting for 80 minutes accompanied by an original soundtrack of spoken voices created by a local artist featuring people of Salford's reflections on peace

? Location: Sunken Gardens, at the front of Salford Civic Centre, M27 5DA
This is a free, community celebration open to the public. A hot drinks vendor will be on site for the event. This event will take place outdoors so guests are encouraged to dress appropriately, it will be a standing event with some limited bench seating in the garden. Accessible toilets will be available.
? Free parking will be available on the car park at the rear of Salford Civic Centre, off Partington Lane.
