Join Salem Band for an All-American band concert in the town Square, our Annual Stars & Stripes performance honoring veterans in our community with marches, big bands, sing-alongs, Armed Forces Salute, and of course, Star & Stripes Forever! Hear two World Premieres of original compositions celebrating our nation’s 250th Anniversary and the original Independence Day celebration in Salem Square: Healthy, Wealthy, and Wise by Steven Sherrill; and American Hussite by David Mailman. The program includes Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, Places USA, Benny Goodman: King of Swing, and Cosmopolitan America. Don’t miss the sibling vocal duo featuring our own SB vocalist Mignon Dobbins and brother David Dobbins, baritone – singing, song-leading, and narrating. Arrive at 6:45 pm to enjoy pre-concert jazz by The Luke Childress Quartet. FREE in Salem Square, Old Salem, Winston-Salem. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and a picnic. Rain-date = Sunday, July 05.
