Hoyt-Kingston-Schwing is a trio featuring voice and two guitars, delving into the interplay of density and space, harmony and unison. Their music, born from spontaneity and playfulness, is refined by a shared longing for calm and joy. With exhaled, melodic phrases that shimmer like light, the voice weaves through a tapestry of harmonies, where the two guitars blend seamlessly as one. Performing original contemporary jazz and songs from the Great American Songbook.
Elly Hoyt is a Tasmanian-born composer and vocalist recognised for her innovative contributions to jazz and indie-folk music. She has released three acclaimed jazz albums ‘Elly Hoyt’, ‘Oranges and Sunshine’ and ‘The Composers Voice: Celebrating Australian Women Composers’—through Earshift and Pinnacle, along with two independent EPs under her pseudonym ‘My Nightingale’. Her composition “New Orleans” has garnered over one million streams on Spotify.
Hoyt’s accolades include a Bell Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album, the Generations in Jazz Vocal Scholarship, Finalist in the Freedman Jazz Fellowship and a Marten Bequest Traveling Scholarship to study a Masters of Jazz Performance at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, USA. Career highlights also include supporting US pianist Kenny Barron and performing for King Charles and Camilla.
She has toured nationally and internationally playing venues, festivals and clubs including Shanghai World Expo (China), Bar 55 (NYC), Schloss Elmau (Germany), Jordan Concert Hall (Boston, USA), Sydney Opera House and the Melbourne International Jazz Festival (AUS) to name a few.
Damien Kingston is a Hobart based guitarist and jazz composer that has to date released six albums of original music as a band leader with the ‘Damien Kingston Quartet’, with music released by both independent and established labels such as Scratch Match Records and ABC Jazz. Damien has presented his music both throughout Australia at prestigious venues such as Bennett’s Lane and Jazzlab, and has toured his music internationally throughout Europe.
Julius Schwing is an improvising guitarist and composer from Bruny Island, Tasmania. He has performed in Australia, Europe, India, New Zealand, Canada and the USA, including at the Nelson Arts Festival (NZ), Adelaide Fringe Festival, Wangaratta Festival of Jazz and Blues, MONA FOMA, Dark MOFO, Faux Mo, Perth International Jazz Festival, Falls Festival and10 Days on the Island. Julius has been nominated three times for the prestigious Freedman Jazz Fellowship and placed 3rd in the 2022 National Jazz Awards. Recently, he was awarded a state luminary APRA/ AMCOS Art Music Award and has released nine albums.

As Salamanca Arts Centre will be operating a bar under Tasmanian Liquor Licensing Regulations, all minors (people under the age of 18) must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times, and SAC Staff may, under their RSA Obligations, request verification of patrons' age.
