Welcome to Sage NYC: Combining Wellness and Voter Education

What does it mean to truly take care of yourself and your community? At Sage NYC, we believe wellness and civic power go hand in hand. This isn't just a wellness event. It's an invitation to step outside, breathe fresh air, and experience the energy of community coming alive.

Under the open sky, Sage NYC brings together movement, creativity, education, and joy in one intentional outdoor space. Take yoga and dance classes, join interactive art and wellness workshops, and test your civic knowledge with engaging trivia games. Browse curated wellness and civic vendors, offering products and resources to support your everyday well-being. Our DJ ( @jahmedicine) will keep the energy high throughout the day, spinning a soundtrack to inspire you.

From yoga mats to voting facts, herb bundling workshops to Double Dutch sessions, this is wellness with purpose and a beat you can feel. Attending wellness classes and civic education activities at Sage NYC means showing up for yourself and your community.Leave grounded, informed, and ready to take action.

Wellness Classes

Yoga (Traditional) with Dr. Seychelles Doyley Find your stillness. This beginner-friendly yoga workshop invites you to slow down, tune in, and reconnect with your body through gentle movement, intentional breathwork, and mindfulness. Whether you're brand new to the mat or simply need a reset, you'll leave feeling grounded, restored, and ready to show up — for yourself and your community.

Soca & Sweat with CARIBBEING:Turn up and sweat it out — Caribbean style. This high-energy movement session blends the infectious rhythms of Soca with a full-body workout that feels more like a party than exercise. Wine, bruk out, and let loose as you build stamina, free your spirit, and get your body primed for the season ahead. No experience required — just bring your energy and your best moves.

Workshops

Sage Crafting Fresh Herb Bundling Experience with NerdDNA: Rooted in Indigenous, spiritual, and cultural traditions across the globe, sage bundling is a timeless practice of purification and intention-setting. In this hands-on workshop, you'll craft your own fresh herb bundle while learning the history and meaning behind this sacred ritual. Leave with something handmade, something meaningful, and a deeper connection to the wisdom of plants.

Intro to Crochet with Knot Okay Club: Slow down, stitch up, and find your people. Hosted by Knot Okay Club — a space intentionally designed for and by Black women and non-binary people — this beginner-friendly workshop walks you through the foundations of crochet in an affirming, cozy, and judgment-free setting. You'll leave with a handmade creation, a new skill, and the warmth of genuine connection.

Intro to Double Dutch with Swagga Jumpers: Jump back into joy. Double Dutch isn't just a childhood classic — it's cardio, coordination, community, and pure fun all wrapped into one rope. This workshop guides you through classic footwork and rhythm techniques while bringing people together through movement, laughter, and a little friendly competition. All levels welcome — just bring your willingness to jump in, literally.

Games

Know Your Facts! Kahoot — Voting Edition Think you know your voting rights? Put your knowledge to the test. This fast-paced, interactive Kahoot trivia game makes civic education fun by busting common myths and breaking down the facts of the voting process. Compete, laugh, and walk away feeling more informed, more empowered, and ready to make your voice heard.

Middle Ground — Voting Edition Where do you really stand? This dynamic interactive game transforms opinions into conversation, inviting participants to step left, step right, or hold their ground in response to a series of thought-provoking prompts. In a safe and open space, you'll hear different perspectives, challenge your own thinking, and discover that civic dialogue can be honest, respectful — and surprisingly fun.
