Join us for our next in-person volunteer training!
Whether you're stepping into a role as a Host Family, Family Friend, or Family Coach, this training is your opportunity to become equipped, informed, and one step closer to full approval. You'll connect with others on their SFFC journey, learn what it means to serve well, and ask all your questions in a supportive, face-to-face environment.
What to Expect
- An engaging training session designed to equip you for direct support roles
- Space to build community with other prospective volunteers
- Help with application steps and guidance for SACWIS checks
- Light breakfast
- An invitation to join our luncheon from 1pm-3pm to meet current volunteers
Get a Head Start on Your Approval Process
You are encouraged to complete your application and SACWIS background check before the training. However, support will be available on-site if you prefer to complete some of these steps at the event.
Need help with SACWIS? We'll have staff available to assist you, but you’ll need to bring two forms of identification (e.g., driver’s license, passport, Social Security card, birth certificate, etc.).
Mobile Fingerprinting Option
We are excited to provide on-site mobile fingerprinting so you can complete up to 80% of the volunteer approval process in one day.
- Cost: $85 per person (includes both FBI & BCI checks) + tax
- Payment Methods: Card, Venmo, or Zelle (due to the vendor at the time of service)
- What to Bring: A valid photo ID (driver’s license, state ID, or passport)
A free off-site fingerprinting option will also be available at Hamilton County JFS if you preferred.
Next Steps
You’ll receive a confirmation email with pre-work about a month out from training. We can’t wait to meet you and help you take this next big step in your SFFC journey!
