Amazonian spiritual guide Manari Ushigua and Songstress Jaleh invite you to an intimate Solstice Concert & Ceremony infused with the sacred medicine of Cacao, Tobacco, and Icaros so that we may harmonize our hearts with the changing energy on Earth and in our own lives.
World renowned shaman, forest-defender and political leader Manari Ushigua brings the spirit of the Amazon to The Center SF for one very special night of Medicine & Music. Alongside San Francisco's dearest powerhouse singer and mystic Jaleh, he will be sharing an intimate Tobacco ceremony and his sacred Icaros to call upon the healing spirit of the Amazon to open our hearts to harmonize with the new energy on Earth. Jaleh will be opening the evening with a Cacao Ceremony and closing with a reiki-infused concert of Medicine Music inspired by her time with Manari in Ecuadorian Amazon.
The sacred plant of tobacco, known to the Sapara as Jauneka, has been used for thousands of years by indigenous people. The medicine is inhaled through the nose, then we will be guided by Manari with traditional Icaros, as he connects with the spirit of the medicine and rainforest. The tobacco medicine invites you into a deep state of meditation that can liberate many emotions and parts of our unconscious mind.
BIOS
Manari Ushigua is a traditional healer, political and spiritual leader of the Sápara Nation in the Ecuadorian Amazon. He has been an integral part of the indigenous movement in Ecuador since 1999, defending the forest and raising awareness about the threat to his homeland.He is actively fighting to keep Petroleum and other mining companies out of their territory on the headwaters of the Conambo River.
Jaleh is a San Francisco songstress, weaving in magic and mysticism into her musical performances and cacao ceremonies. She has toured around the world sharing her voice on large stages with her band Royal Jelly Jive and has vowed to be an instrument of love and illumination with her inspired medicine music.
