About this Event
Join the 1882 Foundation and Friends of Sacramento Chinatown Square for an intimate, small-group tour of Sacramento Chinatown led by Norman Fong. Once the second largest Chinatown in California, this historic neighborhood was a vital hub for Chinese immigrants who helped build the Transcontinental Railroad and shape the Sacramento region. Today, Chinatown Square at 4th and J Street stands as the last remnant of that vibrant community.
The tour will take place from 1-2 PM. Afterwards, join UC Davis students in Chinatown Square for a free 1882 Foundation-sponsored community Tea and Mahjong event (refreshments served). Don't know how to play Mahjong? No problem! A Mahjong teacher will be there to guide you.
The suggested doantion for this event is $5.
