At midday on the 28th of October, we will come together in Pōneke for Rā Whakamana, a tikanga-led stand under Te Kahu o Te Raukura for tino rangatiratanga and the wellbeing of workers.Hosted by mana whenua and supported by the union movement, this event will mark the anniversary of the signing of He Whakaputanga and the first Labour Day marches in Aotearoa.
Drawing on the shared history of solidarity between the tino rangatiratanga movement and unions, we will send a clear message to this Government that we will not tolerate their ongoing attacks on Te Tiriti o Waitangi, workers’ rights, wāhine, and the environment.
At the time when the Crown is confiscating the foreshore and seabed and passing the Regulatory Standards Bill, we must reaffirm our collective power and say enough is enough.
