The Italian pianist Pietro Bonfilio graduated at “Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi” in Milan and completed a master’s degree in performance at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. He studied with several renowned musicians as Lang Lang, Jean-Marc Luisada, Vincenzo Balzani, Victor Sangiorgio, Giuseppe Andaloro.
He has performed in the USA (Carnegie Hall in New York, NYU and Cornell University), Milan (Teatro alla Scala, Sala Verdi), Munchen (Herkulessaal), Russia (North Caucasian State Orchestra),Tokyo (Tamashin RISURU Hall), Modena (Teatro Pavarotti), Cremona (Teatro Ponchielli), Israel (Jerusalem Music Centre, Tel Aviv Conservatoire of Music), in various cities of England, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Germany (Berlin Ernst Reuter Saal), France, Turkey, Scotland (Royal Concert Hall of Glasgow), Romania (Athenaeum Bucharest), Mexico (Centro Cultural Bicentenario in Mexico City), Cambodia (Phnom Penh Piano Festival), Honk Kong (Youth Teather), Thailand (Bangkok Piano Festival, Sala Sudasiri Sobha).
He performed as a soloist with Teatro alla Scala Cameristi, Luxembourg Philharmonia Orchestra, Mexico State Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia Tama Tokyo, Warsaw Chamber Orchestra, North Caucasian State Orchestra, Istanbul Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra Sinfonica Rossini Pesaro, Orchestra “Mihail Jora” Bacau, Grosseto Symphony Orchestra, Reggio Calabria “Francesco Cilea” Orchestra, Cemal Resit Rey Philharmonic Istanbul, Milli Reasurans Orchestra Istanbul.
He regularly plays with internationally acclaimed artists including Fatma Said, Giovanni Sollima, Mikhail Utkin, Ariana Kim.
In 2017 has been released an album for the dutch label Brilliant Classics dedicated to the Russian composer Dimitri Kabalevsky in 2019 has been released an album dedicated to the Russian 19th century for the label Suonare Records and 2022 has been released an album dedicated to Shostakovich and Debussy for the label Movimento Classics.
He has been principal piano professor at Conservatorio “C. Monteverdi” in Cremona and guest professor at Yamaha Piano School, Assumption University and Princess Galyani Vadhana institute of music in Bangkok.
Pietro is the founder and artistic director of the international music festival Morellino Classica Festival in Tuscany Italy.
