Phillipa is a committed local GB ultra-runner who has taken on extraordinary physical and mental challenges in support of charitable causes close to her heart. From early 5km fundraising races to completing ultra-marathons of more than 200 miles, her journey is far from a typical “couch to 5k” story. It is one defined by resilience, purpose, and a deep commitment to helping others.
As a single mother, Phillipa found in running not only a personal challenge, but a way to create meaning through supporting family health and, increasingly, the wellbeing of her wider community. Now a proud Run Ambassador for HealthBus Trust, she describes the charity not simply as an organisation, but as an extended family united by compassion and action.Phillipa is particularly passionate about empowering younger women and championing those facing inequality and hardship.
Through her “43 for 43” challenge, she is helping to raise awareness that women experiencing homelessness have an average life expectancy of just 43 years - a statistic she believes must change. Her message is simple but powerful: women supporting women, breaking down barriers, and inspiring each other to believe that even the toughest challenges can be overcome.
