RUEDI AI / Data Infrastructure Town Hall Event
Date: Tuesday, May 6th, 2025
Location: The British Medical Association, London
We invite you to an exclusive RUEDI AI / Data Infrastructure event, hosted by Professor Simon Maskell from the RUEDI AI Cross-Cutting Theme.
This in-person town hall offers a unique opportunity to shape the design and future of the RUEDI national facility—a groundbreaking project that will transform scientific research.
About RUEDI
UKRI plans to invest £125M in Relativistic Electron Diffraction and Imaging (RUEDI). This game-changing microscope capability will facilitate break-throughs in scientific fields that span energy storage to material behaviour in extreme conditions. However, those advances will only be possible if the physical equipment is empowered with the algorithmic technology that can maximise the ability to extract pertinent information from the measured data. There is therefore a need to bring together the signal processing expertise from across the UK that can support the development of computational imaging algorithms for RUEDI and to understand how the development of a digital twin for RUEDI could enable the computational imaging algorithms to be prototyped ahead of RUEDI becoming operational in 2032. This workshop aims to begin the process of identifying the groups and individuals who will, together, be the catalyst for a community that will help enable RUEDI to fully deliver on its potential.
Funded by the EPSRC through the UKRI Infrastructure Fund, RUEDI is being developed in collaboration with the University of Liverpool, Rosalind Franklin Institute, and STFC Daresbury.
Keynote Speaker: Professor Mujdat Cetin, University of Rochester, New York
