What you need to know:
-8:00am ruck in Balboa Park (scenic lap around the park)
-9:30am very leisurely ruck in the zoo (this time we plan to walk by the hippos and tigers)
For the Balboa Park ruck:
-Please join this part of the ruck if you’re looking for more of a pace-focused ruck before going into the zoo.
-We will meet at the outside entrance of the zoo by the giant lion statue.
-We plan to go about 4 miles before making it back to the zoo entrance
For the zoo ruck:
-We will meet right inside the zoo entrance at 9:30am by the gorilla statue.
-We plan to go about 3 miles
-This will be a unique, casual ruck so that people can briefly stop to see animals along the way. If you care about your pace, this is not the ruck for you!
-We will follow a path and will stop at few spots along the way to wait so that we can stay together as a group as much as possible
-If you want to see the pandas, you’ll have to do that after the ruck. You can try to sign up before we start the ruck using a QR code at the zoo.
Families, kids, strollers - Welcome & Encouraged. (Only non-working four legged family members must stay home.)

ABOUT RUCKING:
"What is rucking?" https://www.goruck.com/rucking-101
RUCKING 101
RUCK•ING [VERB] // Walking with a weighted rucksack (aka backpack). It implies action, energy, and purpose. Rucking requires strength, endurance, and character -- and builds it, too.

ALL RUCKERS ARE VOLUNTEERS:
Attending this ruck is FREE of change - and you attend at YOUR OWN FREE WILL. YOU are responsible for YOUR SAFETY and health situation.
WAIVER: (The Fine Print!)
I agree that I am a voluntary member of a Ruck Club (“the Club”), and I acknowledge that participating in and volunteering for organized group exercise, rucking, physical training, social events, and races with the Club are potentially hazardous activities, which could cause injury or death. I will not participate in any Club organized events, group training or social events, unless I am medically able and properly trained, and by my signature, I certify that I am medically able to perform all activities associated with the Club, am in good health, and am properly trained.
I acknowledge that the Club is affiliated with, but not a representative or agent of GORUCK Holdings, LLC, nor any of its subsidiaries, officers, representatives or successors (collectively, “GORUCK”). I agree to abide by all rules established by the Club and Club leader, including the right of the Club leader to deny or suspend my participation for any reason whatsoever. I attest that I have read the rules of the Club and agree to abide by them. I understand and agree that I assume all known and unknown risks associated with being a member of the Club and participating in Club activities which may include: falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, including high heat and/or humidity, traffic and the conditions of the road, trails, and surroundings, all such risks being known and appreciated by me.
Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and in consideration of your accepting my membership, I, for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, fully and forever waive and release the Club, club leaders, GORUCK, and other club sponsors from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation with the Club, even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver. I will not initiate any claim, lawsuit, court action, or other legal proceeding against GORUCK, nor join or assist in the prosecution of any claim which anyone may have in connection with my participation in the Club, and I waive any right I may have to do so. This means that I cannot sue to hold GORUCK responsible for any injury, loss, or damage sustained by me or other parties in connection with the Club. I also waive my insurers’ right to make a claim against GORUCK based on payments by insurers to me or on my behalf for any reason.
YOUR ATTENDANCE ACKNOWLEDGES THAT YOU HAVE READ AND UNDERSTOOD ALL OF THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THIS WAIVER AND THAT YOU ARE VOLUNTARILY GIVING UP SUBSTANTIAL LEGAL RIGHTS, INCLUDING THE RIGHT TO SUE.

ABOUT THE SAN DIEGO TRITON RUCK CLUB:
Triton Ruck Club was founded on the UC San Diego campus in early 2019 and became an official GORUCK club in April 2019. We merged with San Diego Rucking Club to become San Diego Triton Ruck Club in Fall 2020. We are the official ruck training partner of Team RWB San Diego and actively partner to host and ruck events all over San Diego County and Southern California. There are no dues, and you do not need to be a veteran, nor a part of the UC San Diego community to join. In 2022, our Northern California chapter formed in the San Jose region, led by a fierce set of experienced GRT.
Our rucking members range from beginners to elite endurance athletes training and executing Tier 1 rucking events. We support everyone and ALL LEVELS. We welcome ALL LEVELS and have a “you-do-you” policy regarding what gear you use and how much weight you ruck. Each person makes their own responsible choices to determine the ruck and weight appropriate for their training levels. No specific brands are required, but your experienced teammates will have recommendations and guidance.
MISSION:
San Diego Triton Ruck Club is an ALL LEVELS community of ruckers united in fitness through ruck training and rucking. As a community, we are committed to supporting endeavors benefitting local military and first responder families through charitable events and engagement.
