🎧 DJ Mati Baz
Vinyl collector and dancer, Mati has been hosting events for London’s funk dance community since the early 2000s. Initially a force behind grass roots party jams like The Four Corners and Roast, he went on to spin at celebrated funk dance cultural events including The Bridge Southbank Hip Hop Festival, The Rock Box Reunions, and Let’s Jam dance events also working with an international Groovin’ High DJ Collective of vinyl diggin DJs hosting a string of funky club nights across the capital. With deep ties to the Legendary Collector, DJ & Dancer Keb Darge also having spun at vinyl dance parties with his renowned Deep Funk DJing partner soul-funk artist Nia Saw, Mati has recently joined forces with fellow West London based funky crate digger George Aresti to revive the iconic Deep Funk vinyl dance nights (originally hosted by Keb Darge) carrying on the legacy of the original Soho sessions that inspired a generation of dancers and diggers alike.
🎧 DJ George Aresti
A West London native whose DJ journey began in the mid-90s, George made his name through a string of long-running funk and rare groove nights across the capital. From The Rocket in Acton to Mishmash in Chiswick and Fever at High Road House, his events have been staples of London’s funk circuit. Inspired by legendary spots like Madame Jojo’s and The Wag, George has now partnered with DJ & Dancer Mati Baz to revive the legendary West End Deep Funk dance night, a vinyl-driven night spotlighting rare and underplayed funk at venues including CLF Art Lounge and BBE Records Store.
