Today’s hardscaping projects demand more evolving methods. Thinner porcelain and natural stone paver slabs require systems that perform in real-world conditions, especially in freeze-thaw climates. The ROMEX Academy is designed to give contractors hands-on insight into proven installation systems that are built to last, backed by a 10-year warranty.
This training goes beyond product demos. It focuses on why these systems work, how to install them correctly, and where they add long-term value on your projects. From proper bedding and adhesion to jointing, stabilization, and gravel binding, ROMEX products are engineered to increase durability, reduce callbacks and deliver consistent results you can stand behind.
If you’re looking to expand your capabilities, stay ahead of evolving materials and install hardscapes with confidence, the ROMEX Academy is built for you.

1 to 2 p.m. - Berlin Gardens Structures
This class introduces contractors and builders to the essentials of selling and installing Berlin Gardens outdoor structures. The session begins with an overview of the product line—including pergolas, pavilions, gazebos, and available accessories—highlighting the craftsmanship, low‑maintenance materials, and customization options that make Berlin Gardens a strong upsell on landscape projects.
Participants learn practical sales techniques such as bundling structures with hardscapes, using visual tools to close deals, and guiding homeowners through sizing, shade needs, and finish selections. The installation portion covers site preparation, anchoring methods, assembly order, roofing options, and electrical integration, with a focus on real‑world best practices that reduce errors and callbacks.
The session concludes with common contractor mistakes, how to avoid them, and an overview of warranty, lead times, and support resources. By the end, attendees gain both the confidence to recommend Berlin Gardens structures and the technical understanding to install them efficiently and professionally.
2 to 3 p.m. - Landscape Lighting
This class introduces contractors and designers to the core principles of landscape lighting. The session covers lighting fundamentals, fixture types, and practical design techniques to elevate outdoor spaces. Participants learn how color temperature, beam spread, and lumen output influence design outcomes; how to select and place up lights, path lights, wall lights, and downlights; and how to build layered lighting plans that improve safety, function, and aesthetics.
The class also includes essential installation knowledge—transformer sizing, wiring methods, voltage drop management, and best‑practice tips for clean, long‑lasting installs. It wraps up with a brief Q&A and provides contractors with simple talking points to confidently recommend lighting as an add‑on service.
