"A Must-Do Tour for History Lovers!
I recently had the pleasure of joining the Roman London walking tour, and I cannot recommend it highly enough! As a history enthusiast, I found this tour to be an absolute gem and an unforgettable experience.
Our tour guide Ian was a qualified City of London expert, who shared captivating stories and anecdotes about the first Londoners, bringing ancient Londinium to life right before our eyes. The guide's passion and knowledge were apparent throughout the entire 90-minute journey.
From the awe-inspiring remains of the Roman city wall to the hidden Roman Amphitheatre beneath the Guildhall Art Gallery, each site we visited was more fascinating than the last. The locations of the Temple of Mithras and the Roman Forum and Basilica were particular highlights, offering a unique insight into the lives of those who lived in this great city so long ago.
Not only did we explore the well-known landmarks, but our guide also led us to lesser-known corners of Roman London that I never knew existed. This tour truly opened my eyes to the incredible history lying just beneath the surface of the modern city.
The Roman London walking tour was well-organized, engaging, and truly enjoyable. I left with a deeper appreciation for the city's rich history and its transformation over the centuries. If you're a lover of history or just curious about London's past, this tour is an absolute must-do!
