Skate Sanctuary: FREE Roller Skating SessionsJoin Skate Sanctuary for a series of relaxed, welcoming roller skating sessions in Rowntree Park at the Amphitheatre.
These FREE sessions are part of the Make Space York project, which is focused on creating parks where girls feel welcome, confident and able to enjoy being in public space. It’s about creating opportunities to try something new, spend time with others, and feel at ease outdoors.
The sessions are open to all abilities. Whether you’ve never stepped on skates before or already feel confident, you’re very welcome. Parents and carers are also welcome to join in.
Session times
• 2.00–3.30pm – best suited for ages 8–12
• 3.30–5.00pm – best suited for ages 13–18
You can book a place and drop in at any time between 2.00–5.00pm.
Bring your own skates, or hire a pair in advance by adding your skate size when booking (add to the booking form, no cost!)

These sessions are funded through the Mayor of North Yorkshire’s Movement and Sport Fund via the North Yorkshire Combined Authority.
