About this Event
Speakers: Simon Guerrier and Gary Brannan
Discover the remarkable legacies of David Whitaker and Terrance Dicks - two giants of Doctor Who and British popular culture.
From Whitaker’s shaping of the show’s earliest years to Dicks’ beloved scripts and over 230 children’s books, biographer Simon Guerrier will explore how their words inspired generations of readers and viewers.
Our exploration of time, space and television features exclusive insights into their work from their own archives at the Borthwick Institute for Archives with Gary Brannan, Keeper of Archives and Research Collections at the University of York.
Book sales
You can buy copies of many of our speakers’ books from Fox Lane Books, a local independent bookseller and Festival partner. In some cases, author signed bookplates are available too.
