Roger is a master of the Anglo concertina & has been a huge influence on the understanding of English traditional dance music. He formed the band Flowers & Frolics & played for many years with Bob Davenport. Liz is a fine fiddler with a deep understanding of English traditional playing.Roger & Liz will give us two forty-five minute sets and the rest of the evening is filled by members of the audience doing a song or tune if they wish.
Everyone is welcome, especially if you'd like to sing or play. We mostly sing and play traditional music from the British Isles, but we enjoy other styles as well. We always start off with some English dance tunes for anyone with an instrument to join in.
During the day Roger leads a workshop on concertina-playing (all systems in the morning, anglos only in the afternoon). Liz leads a workshop for any melody instrument on the tunes of Minnie White of Newfoundland in the afternoon.
