At our regular Club meeting this week on Thursday, November 13 at 12:15 PM, we look forward to hearing from our newest member, Yodit Sahelu Seyoum, as she presents “How Kindova Empowers Communities in Ethiopia.” Yodit will share her life story and the founding of Kindova, and this will also serve as her classification talk. Classification talks are a valued Rotary tradition in which members introduce their professional background, personal journey, and the ways their vocation connects to their service in Rotary.Yodit Sahelu Seyoum, is the Founder and President of Kindova Humanitarian Organization, a nonprofit committed to empowering communities affected by conflict and hardship. With over a decade of experience in international finance, accounting, and nonprofit leadership, Yodit has transformed her expertise into a force for positive change. Her deep passion for social impact and firsthand experience witnessing the resilience of communities in need led her to establish Kindova as a platform for meaningful and lasting support for vulnerable populations in Ethiopia and beyond.
Throughout her career, Yodit has held pivotal roles at globally recognized organizations, including the United Nations, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the Open Technology Fund. She also served as the Director of Affiliate Accounting at ACDI/VOCA, one of the world’s leading nonprofit organizations dedicated to promoting economic growth and resilience in developing countries. Her roles provided her with valuable insight into the implementation of large-scale development projects, further fueling her commitment to making a meaningful difference.
Yodit earned her Master of Science in Accounting and Controlling from The Hague University of Applied Sciences and a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Addis Ababa University. Her leadership at Kindova reflects a steadfast dedication to transparency, accountability, and sustainable change.
With a firm belief in the transformative power of kindness, Yodit Sahelu Seyoum continues to lead Kindova’s mission, fostering resilience, rebuilding lives, and empowering communities to thrive against all odds.
