Please join us for a presentation on Hill-Stead’s magnificent stone walls. Robert Thorson is Professor of Earth Sciences at the University of Connecticut and a leading authority on the physical characteristics, history, and preservation of the celebrated stone walls that make New England’s landscape so distinctive. The event will be preceded by an optional walking tour of Hill-Stead’s stone walls with Thorson (beginning at 3:30PM), in which participants will have a chance to engage in a more extended conversation.
