From his beginnings in the '90s as a member of the highly successful U.K.-based boy band Take That, Robbie Williams has gone on the forge a similarly impressive solo career that's showcased his talents as both a singer and a showman. Following his stint with Take That -- during which time they issued three multi-platinum hit albums -- Williams' star grew even brighter, with a string of chart-topping records and sales that surpassed Take That by a wide margin. Setting the stage with his 1997 debut album, Life Thru a Lens, he scored the first of many hit singles with the soaring "Angels." Sophomore LP I've Been Expecting You was a career peak, certified ten-times platinum and breaking him into new markets with the timely "Millennium." With each successive release, Williams remained at the top of the album charts in the 2000s, accumulating number one singles such as "Rock DJ," "Somethin' Stupid," and "Candy." After reaching the summit of the pop world, he spread out in different directions by reuniting with Take That and becoming a judge on the singing competition show The X-Factor, starting a dance music side project (Lufthaus), and starring (sort of) in a film about his own life, 2024's Better Man.
