About this Event

The Riverside Music Series returns to Mayo Park this July and August with five weeks of free Sunday night concerts along the riverfront. For more than 30 years, Riverside has been a Rochester summer tradition, bringing the community together for evenings filled with music, food and connection.

This summer’s lineup brings a wide range of artists and energy to the stage, continuing a tradition of free concerts that turn Mayo Park into a place where people come together—for music, for food and for summer nights that feel like Rochester at its best.

Whether you’ve been coming for years or you’re brand new to Riverside, there’s a spot in the park waiting for you. Bring a chair or blanket, come early for food trucks and settle in for the kind of live music that makes summer feel like summer.

Tank and the Bangas is a dynamic musical collective from New Orleans led by vocalist and poet Tarriona 'Tank' Ball alongside multi-instrumentalist Norman Spence II. Known for their vibrant fusion of funk, soul, hip-hop, jazz, and spoken word, the band first gained national recognition after winning NPR’s 2017 Tiny Desk Contest. Their performances combine theatrical storytelling, rich musicianship, and emotional depth, earning them critical acclaim and Grammy recognition. With a rotating ensemble of talented musicians, Tank and the Bangas continue to push creative boundaries while celebrating the musical spirit of New Orleans.

Their acclaimed releases, including Green Balloon and Red Balloon, explore themes of love, identity, mental health, joy, and self-expression through rich instrumentation and poetic lyricism. Their music celebrates individuality, emotional honesty, and community, making them one of the most compelling and boundary-pushing groups in modern music.
