About this Event
This practical training course is run by Buglife. It will involve learning how to take a standardised kick sample and how to identify riverflies into their eight designated groups.
This course is for those who wish to become a Riverfly Partnership's Riverfly Monitoring Initiative (RMI) monitor, as part of the Tweed Foundation's citizen science programme, Guardians of the Tweed.
To become a monitor, you must also complete the theory training. Registration for a theory session can be done here
This class will be held outside, therefore weather appropriate clothing is required. There will also be the opportunity to go in the river, therefore waterproof footwear is recommended.
The class will be held on the grassy area next to the Peebles Greenside car park at approximately ///samplers.spurring.runners
If you have any questions please contact the Tweed Foundation's Volunteer Coordinator, Erica, at [email protected]
