The law does not expect you to eliminate all risk, but you are required to protect people as far as ‘reasonably practicable’. This course covers how to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement appropriate control measures. The Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) imposes a general duty on employers, self-employed individuals, employees, suppliers, and owners of premises to ensure workplaces are safe and do not pose health risks.

● Explain the difference between hazards, risks, and control measures
● Recognize safety signs and Safe Systems of Work (SSOW)
● Understand the role of accidents in evaluating risks and control measures
● Apply the 4 corners of the risk assessment process
● Demonstrate understanding of risk assessment through practical exercises
