Welcome to Risk A Verse, the night which brings feelgood communal tunery to the fine folk of Leeds! The concept is this: you sign up for a slot in advance to play and/or sing a song of your choice on the theme, then on the night you sing the verses and everyone else joins in on the chorus. This time we're looking forward to a night celebrating our devotion to our favourite ditties and inviting you to perform (or sing along with others performing) a song inspired by the theme of YOUR FAVOURITE SONG!
If you'd like to perform on the night, here's what you need to do:
1) Sign up for a slot by sending a message to the Risk A Verse Facebook page, stating the song you'd like to perform, as soon as possible. We'll update this page to let you know when/if all slots are full.
2) On the night, we will project the lyrics onto the wall, so if your version differs from the version on https://genius.com then please let us know at least a few days before the event.
If performing, please let us know if you'd like to enlist the services of House Guitarist Mike to accompany you - or you're welcome to use a backing track if not accompanying yourself.
If playing the song yourself, you must bring your own instrument. There is an in-house PA and sound engineer. Percussion (played by you or a friend) is optional, though we don't want to faff around with any drum kits.
If you are concerned about sharing a mic and can bring your own, you are welcome to use it.
Doors are at 7.15pm and we'll start the music at 7.45pm.
