We are so excited that our Rising sTArs program is expanding! We are launching Winston-Salem’s very first Junior Theatre Festival troupe!WHAT IS THE JUNIOR THEATRE FESTIVAL (JTF)?
The Junior Theater Festival (JTF) is the world’s biggest and best celebration of young people performing musical theater.
JTF brings together student musical theater troupes from all over the world for a weekend of musical theater mayhem and madness. Each troupe performs fifteen minutes from a Broadway Junior®️ show for adjudication by a panel of musical theater experts. The weekend also features professional development for teachers, workshops for students and parents, a New Works Showcase featuring new musical adaptations soon to be released, and concludes with a grand finale concert headlined by Broadway’s best!
The 2025 Festival dates are January 16-20 in Atlanta, GA. Rising sTArs will be performing a selection from a show title that we can’t name just yet. (We’ll tell you as soon as rights are secured!) This production will be directed and choreographed by Heather Levinson with music direction by Amber Engel.
We are looking for a talented troupe of young performers in grades 5 - 12 (2024-25 school year) to be a part of founding this new program! Auditions will be October 5th. More details to come. Click 'GOING' on this event page to get the latest information!
